About the Company

Fegda UAB, with over 350 employees, is one of the largest road-building companies in Lithuania. Fegda UAB is a member of the Fegda group, which also includes Tilsta UAB.

Fegda UAB specialises in the construction of roads and streets and in the construction and repair of city infrastructure and engineering/utility networks. The company has been issued Certificate No 1685 of the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Lithuania. The company's business strategy is oriented towards the most modern and advanced technologies, the highest level of workmanship that meets the requirements of international standards, and environmental protection.

Turnover over the last few years has fluctuated between €50m and €70m. The value of the company's largest project – the Vilnius Southern bypass (construction of the missing link for the IXB transport corridor) – amounted to €76m. Fegda UAB was awarded the gold medal in the construction industry category at the Lithuanian Product of the Year contest for the implementation of this project. The company has also carried out complex tarmac installation and repair projects at Vilnius International Airport and on Lithuanian motorways.

The efficient organization of work is the main factor determining successful implementation of complex projects.

The company's fleet of more than 140 road construction machines is well looked after and is constantly being renewed and upgraded. Thanks to a professional and coherent team of road building specialists, the company is able to achieve fast, economical, and optimal results. Fegda UAB pays special attention to the safety and health of its employees by creating good working conditions and a good working environment.

The company can act both as a general contractor and as a project management company. The client can therefore obtain all services related to road construction and other engineering infrastructure from a single provider. By acting as a general/main contractor, Fegda UAB controls the production processes at all stages of construction and ensures the smooth performance of all work within time limits and in accordance with quality standards.

History

Since its establishment in 1993, the company has grown into one of the largest road-building companies in Lithuania.

The history of Fegda UAB dates back to 1993, when one of the first private road-building companies was established in Lithuania. This company is unique in that it was built from scratch and not by combining the technical facilities and markets of several state road-building companies under privatisation. This was not an easy path for a newly established company. However, it became more flexible, was able to adopt new machines and technologies more quickly, and managed to achieve high-quality workmanship and more modern management as a result. Although Fegda UAB is completely financed by Lithuanian capital, over the last decade it has worked with such well-known Scandinavian road-building companies as Superfos Construction AS and NCC Roads AS.

Major milestones:
Autumn of 1998: a modern AMMANN asphalt production line was put into operation at the company's production facility in Vilnius.
Since 2001: the company was awarded an ISO 9001 Quality Management Certificate.
2004: an AMMANN bitumen modification plant was installed and put into operation.
Since 2005: an ISO 14001 environmental management system was implemented at the company.
2006: a second AMMANN asphalt mixing plant GLOBAL 160 was put into operation.
2009: an occupational health and safety management system was implemented at the company in line with the requirements of LST 1977:2008 (BS OHSAS 18001:2007).
14 June 2013: Tilsta UAB, a Vilnius-based bridge construction company with almost 50 years of experience in the market, was acquired by signing a share purchase agreement.


Biggest projects:
2006–2008: construction of the Vilnius Southern Bypass (EUR 76m).
2009: reconstruction of a section of the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda motorway (EUR 17.5m).
2010: reconstruction of the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugavpils road from 17.5 km to 25.8 km (EUR 11.5m).
2011: reconstruction of the E85 road (Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda) of the Trans-European Road Network. A section across the town of Grigiškės (Phase II) (EUR 10m).
May 2013: two contracts signed with Lithuanian Railways. Under these contracts, Fegda undertook to build intermodal container terminals in Vilnius and in Kaunas. The overall value of these contracts was EUR 65m and the work was completed in the autumn of 2014.
19 November 2013: Fegda and its responsible partner Kauno Tiltai AB completed the construction of the second stage of the Vilnius Western Bypass. The share of Fegda UAB in this project amounted to EUR 19.4m.

Since its establishment, the company's goal has been to deliver a continuously high level of quality. Fegda UAB performs the most complex road and street construction and engineering utility network building tasks. Successful quality improvement is guaranteed by its quality management system, which meets the requirements of ISO 9001:2015.

The company gains a competitive advantage thanks to regular investment in modern technologies and state-of-the-art equipment and machines. By acting as a general/main contractor, Fegda UAB controls the production processes at all stages of construction and ensures the smooth performance of all work within time limits and in accordance with quality standards.

Fegda UAB constantly improves its environmental management system and uses road construction technologies and materials that reduce environmental pollution. The ISO 14001:2015 environmental management system implemented at the company serves as proof of that. An occupational health and safety management system has been implemented at the company in line with the requirements of ISO 45001:2018.

All work, from the preparation of designs and estimates to warranty maintenance, is carried out by Fegda UAB in accordance with its internal quality management system, irrespective of the volume of work or time of its performance.

The Kaunas branch

The activity of the Kaunas branch of Fegda UAB is primarily focused on the market for construction and reconstruction of roads and streets and landscaping activities in the Kaunas District. When there is a demand, such work is carried out in other parts of Lithuania. The Kaunas branch currently has five road construction teams that carry out road construction work, lay asphalt and concrete slab pavement, install and repair engineering utility networks, and do landscaping projects.

Work at the Kaunas branch is carried out under the management of experienced and qualified road construction engineers. Work is done in accordance with the company's internal quality control requirements and procedures.
